About Rachel
Rachel has coached hundreds of lawyers of all seniority levels, from junior associates to partners and general counsel. She has helped lawyers do the “impossible:” go directly from associate to general counsel, change practice areas as a mid-level associate, and go in-house without taking a pay cut, to name a few.
Rachel graduated from Harvard Law School and practiced at Davis Polk in New York. She then served as Law Editor of Vault.com, where she oversaw Vault’s Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms and read 17,000+ associate survey responses about all facets of law firm life. Rachel went on to run the career coaching and job placement program at Sullivan & Cromwell before founding Your Next Law Job.

A: The Accelerator is open to law firm associates, special counsel, and non-equity partners 1-10 years out of law school. The content and strategies in the Accelerator are specifically tailored to this demographic.
Q: How is this program different from others I might have seen or tried?”
Q: I don’t want anyone to know I’m looking for a job – how will my confidentiality be protected?
- I will only accept one lawyer from a given law firm per cohort
- The live modules will be presented in a Zoom webinar format, so participants can only see the host and not each other
- During the live coaching sessions, you are welcome to turn off your camera and/or change your Zoom account name to just your first name or an alias

- Week of October 20: Module 2. How to create your template resume and cover letter and tailor them quickly for each job
- Week of October 27: Live group coaching session 1
- Week of November 3: Module 3. Recruiter Masterclass: How recruiters work, how to optimize your relationship with them, and avoid those who don’t “get” it or won’t be your advocate
- Week of November 10: Live group coaching session 2.

I started out as an associate at a large law firm in New York. When I was ready to move on to my next role, I had no idea where to start.
I was one of those people who went to law school because I was told I could “do anything” with a JD… but no one ever taught me how to actually figure out my next step.
I knew it was possible to move into a different kind of role because I saw other people who had similar backgrounds to mine and had really cool jobs. But I kept waiting for someone to show me the way forward—and no roadmap ever came.
