The coaching process set me up to find, select and enter into a new career trajectory within the legal field, that I felt confident was really what I wanted to do. Rachel’s coaching helped me understand not only what the job was substantively, but what it was going to look like for me and what that would potentially mean for exit opportunities going forward. And I think that gave me a lot more confidence in taking that job that I was doing something that I felt like was the right move for my career and the right move for my life.

I was a third-year associate when I started working with Rachel, and I felt lost and nervous. I knew the path I was on if I stayed at my firm and I had a sense of what I might want, but how to get there was a black box. I didn’t know what expectations were reasonable, who to talk with or how. After working with Rachel, I got a position in an extremely interesting and fulfilling company with very good compensation and other key negotiated terms. The job not only met what I needed at that moment, it also really pushed the trajectory of my career forward very meaningfully.

I wanted to find something with more meaning, where I could help build something. I wanted my role to have an operations or product component and I wanted to be somewhere that was forward-thinking and doing something good for the world. I got an in-house role at a health tech company and discovered that I really like this industry, even though I’m not a healthcare lawyer. I would not have known how much I enjoyed being in this industry where I’ve now made my career, without Rachel’s help landing that first in-house role.

I had no idea how to even begin my job search. After working with Rachel, I landed a role as in-house legal counsel at an early stage tech startup. I didn’t have any previous tech experience, so it was my entryway into that industry. I have since moved on to other tech companies, but thinking about my next steps, this is the industry I want to stay in. So the really big thing that I got out of this experience was getting my foot in the door and getting to enter this industry. And I’m super happy about that.

I landed a position at a company with a great culture, interesting work, and people I love working with. I don’t plan to leave this company until I retire. I wouldn’t be here without Rachel’s guidance
